I have a memory of our class going out to the playground at Mitchell Elementary School for a history lesson. Our teacher had crepe paper attached to the tetherball poles, and we had a dance pattern routine we were directed to follow to create a specific decorative pattern on the Maypole. Real education.
Happy First Day of May everyone. We are starting it with sunshine and temps in the 70's. Which is a heck of a lot better than the weekend which was stormy, cold, windy with lots of needed rain. In fact, I never left the house on Saturday. Was up at 4 a.m. due to the storms, went back to bed at 8:30, got up at 10:00 and took a nap around 2. It is truly the laziest weekend I've had in a while. I must say I enjoyed it immensely.
ReplyDeleteIn case anyone cares.... It is actually an astronomical holiday: http://earthsky.org/human-world/why-do-we-celebrate-may-day. I brought sweets, chocolate espresso cake -from scratch to work today to celebrate. (It was actually just a coincidence)
