My wish for 2017

Cute joke, but is this what our world is becoming? I see so much nastiness these days and wonder what is happening to us? Is there a real effort to be nasty rather than kind these days? You see it daily on Facebook. Mean spirited people taking over a post about something creating a hostile commentary. Why? Let's all make 2017 a happier year. Be kind to each other and forgive those who have wronged you. You don't have to forget the event, but forgive it for your sake. Happy New Year!

Hung up for another year

So as we leave Christmas behind, we move to New Year's Eve. Any plans? Us? We will be home watching Netflix! Might hit a restaurant early. What do you usually do?

My Christmas Wish

Merry Christmas

Take a few minutes and enjoy.
Reminisce the olden days. Think about those who have left us.
Reflect on what is good in your life.
We have many things to be grateful for, starting with 8+ years of friendship.
Thank you for always being here.

Merry Christmas, friends!

'Tis (or t'is?) the season: A grammar quiz

http://whatis.techtarget.com/quiz/Tis-or-tis-the-season-A-grammar-quiz

I'm posting this one for Ms. Beejay, who loves her grammar police badge. We love her for it, too!

The quiz is a little frustrating, in that you have to keep clicking back and forth for the answers. It is a good one, though, because it explains why the answer is correct.

Since it is almost Christmas, I'll give you a "two-fer" on this blog. This is the webpage where you can copy an emoji and paste into your blog, and it actually works!

I'm hoping your holiday is sweet, healthy, and relaxing!

Christmas must be near

Here are my two Christmas Cactus plants in full bloom. I'm amazed on how they thrive on neglect.

We Are Getting Closer!

Coffee...I need coffee

I'm up, but that's all I can say! The older I get, the fewer nights I sleep through. I seem to wake up about three and finally return to slumberland about 4:30.

Drama Llamas

Over the years, I've joined several groups on Facebook. Some days the drama gets so deep. I think I need a llama with a crown. If anyone has one, send it to me! These guys, by the way, belong to my brother. Lolly and Ollie. Don't start drama around them, they'll spit in your eye! Promise!
Your llama with a crown has been delivered.
Rainbow included with no extra charge.

Santa Claus

I started reminiscing about Christmases past today. I find these time of the year both joyful and a bit depressing at the same time. While I'm in a good place at this stage of my life, I look back at all the loved ones I've lost over the years. The first really close loved one I lost was my Uncle Lyle. I was 23 years old. Uncle Lyle was our "Santa Claus." when I was a little over six, my mother decided it was time to "expose" Santa. We lived in an old drafty farmhouse with stove pipes which ran straight up to the second floor. There was a decorative grate around that stove pipe that could be opened or closed. Normally, somehow that grate was always closed on Christmas Eve. This year, it was not. When Santa came, we would hear "ho-ho-ho" and sleigh bells. This year, when we hear the sleigh bells, we peered down through the grate. There was Uncle Lyle! I knew it, I knew it. Santa Claus was none other than my Uncle Lyle! I just knew that to be true. When friends at school told me there was no Santa, I enlightened them as to his true identity. Darn right! Years later, when sweet Uncle Lyle died, I said my Santa had existed in my heart to that time. He was a wonderful uncle to us and a great Santa! You see, throughout the year while we lived in Oconto County, we would find gifts left around for us. We found hockey skates, roller skates, baseball gloves, dolls, etc. No, not just on Christmas, but all year long. My folks didn't have much money, but we had Uncle Lyle, a priceless treasure!

Warning to kk.. I'm trying to post pictures!

My ice globes. It was cold enough for these to freeze in 24 hours. What else ya gonna do in the winter?

Happy Holidays!

We took our pooch to Petco for her visit with Santa this weekend. She was well behaved. I, however, almost pulled Santa's beard off when I picked her up from his lap. I may have been banned from that store!

Have a groovy Thursday.

Have a great day. We are off to a huge farmers' market...unlike you poor folks, we are experiencing temps in the low 80s. I'm sure Old Man Winter will find Florida sooner or later, but so far, we have escaped his notice.

Tick, Tick, Tick....

I put in an 12 hour day at work yesterday and promoted my program to ~ maybe 200 people. Few presents have been purchased and my oomph has been tapped. I have recipe cards strewn with demands for lovely treats that need to be made for upcoming events. My calendar has something extra almost every day. Yikes. Is it 2017...... yet?

Life in the Great White North

For those of you who are still wearing shorts and feeling wistful for a white holiday. Look at the difference a few hundred miles can make. I have extra shovels just waiting to be used.

This explains it all!

Pets and our Christmas Decorations

My decorations have remained where I put them. Funny, Sable loves to commit stufficide on her stuffed toys, however, has never touched one of my bears or Father Christmas Figurines. When I first put them out, she checks them out, but that's the end of it. My Mom lived with us for several years with her Siamese cats. The one would hide under the tree. The other ignored it totally. She did, however, tell a story about when my brother was a baby. Thinking it would prevent a toppling tree, she put the tree in the playpen. My grandpa lived with them. Her cat hit the tree, knocking it over onto poor grandpa! Oh dear....poor grandpa!

Lazy Lights

Took the liberty to fetch the picture for you. Hope you don't mind.

It's dark out, and my thighs are freezing. Brrrr.

Our Pets

This is Kokanee, Dan's brother's dog, relaxing on the lawn. She's a great dog, but the fur she leaves behind! Her breed? Probably wolf and husky.
This, of course, is our Sable. She loves "sun tanning" poolside. Her main duty is to relax, find Ways to obtain treats, and stufficide! She doesn't shed! Thank you, God!
