The Big Day is Coming

Check the closet for the stretchy pants!  There is a 20 pound bird thawing in the fridge. Stuffing, candied sweet potatoes, mashed taters and gravy, pickled red cabbage, green bean casserole, fruit salad, dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, cherry cheesecake and a house full of family expected on Thursday. Whew! Just hoping I remember how to do it all and don't burn the rolls. Those who eat, do the dishes afterward!

  1. Turkey, ham. Dressing, garlic mashed, Amish salad, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, pasta salad (from a friend), orange creamsicle cheesecake, cranberry pie, key lime coconut cream pie, and elegant pumpkin pie. 18 people. I might run away.

  3. There will be 10 of us, I think? 3 kids who will be reluctant to nap, and the adults who will be fighting for a nap after all the food. I'm actually looking forward to it, despite having to work the full day on Wednesday this year. My pie baking will have to come after a full 8 hour day of chasing teenagers up and down 3 flights of stairs all day. I feel fortunate and thankful to have the opportunity of having people in my life to share this with and the strength to do it.

    1. I'd love to see a film of you doing all of this, and the end result. You know, Kinda like Sandra Lee. Remember how she LOVES to taste her cocktails, while cooking?
