  2. My Grandson Charlie just joined the Army, and Is currently going through Basic Training, In SC. Can't contact him, It was his 20th Birthday yesterday, without a greeting. I needed something else to make me worry.

  3. Toad, I've been using guided imagery to help me relax when I'm too stressed to sleep, which is quite often these days. (They've added "new duties" at work, which basically throws us into the fire without an extinguisher.) The relaxation techniques and mental imagery works some of the time. Not seeing any gurus or anything, just self imposed, mind over matter kinda stuff. Better than nothing.

  4. KK, I'm so sorry you are going through this excess stress, I'm totally familiar, with just how rotten you can feel. I don't know what "Guided Imagery" Is but will surly look It up. ANYTHING that would help would be a blessing, which for YOU are your beautiful Grandkids. Maybe a little Grandkid time would be just the cure? The added duties are like when my MIL was at Roosevelt School, and the Principal at the time didn't like her, so he took SPECIAL care to mess with her. Actually I was surprised she didn't throw his sorry ass In the Boiler. Being In a school Is tough, and the only REWARD Is the little pay, and the satisfaction you get from the HELP you provide to the students. Hopefully you will see one of them after you retire, and they tell you all about the difference YOU made In they're life.

  5. I'm very fortunate. I get positive feedback from the kids all the time. They are usually happy to see me and often give me hugs or high fives. I've also had many adults whom I've serviced come back and see me. It is tremendously rewarding. The stress comes from being overwhelmed with the depth of the need, and yet very little resources to offer. My job has gone from proactive to reactive and the number of students assigned has grown to the entire population. I worry about the kids whose needs exceed my level of expertise, yet, I'm all the district has to offer.
