  1. How are you feeling Minnesota? Hopefully all the pain is gone. No pain here but a lot of heat. It's going to be a long couple of weeks, except next week I'm on "stay-cation". So looking forward to it.

  3. Good morning, ladies. Car is in the shop, so it is stay-cation for me, too. ;> Supposed to get hot out, so I started a pot of beans and ham on low temp so I won't have to stand over a hot stove later. I threw everything into the pot, along with a cup of wine. The ham should be "pickled" at dinner time. It smells too good. Can I wait?

Really hoping the pain is subsiding, Mini. It is hard to give in, but sometimes you have to take it easy and hope the meds work. Where is our resident male blogger? He has been slightly absent.

I also see that our former site has been inactive for a couple of days. Hmmm. Worrisome. I don't wish any ill will on anyone, even those whose judgement was totally askew. We were family.

  4. I'm forever on "Stay-Cation" I thought about going to Walgreen's, because It's OLD peoples day. (55 and older) 20% off of anything that isn't on sale or dairy, and cig's, and magazines. Sometimes It's a good deal. Anyhow, I can't get by butt out of my chair, except for the dogs. Just had Winnie out, and It's WAY too humid. The grass needs cuttin again. To KK and her beans. I LOVE big white beans, and hocks, but I'm the only one that will eat them. Matter of fact, I like pickled hocks at the tavern, with a beer.

MC, I hope Suzie is treating you well while you are down. We dropped her groceries off Saturday, and I didn't see any action at you're place. I saw In today's news the cops In Necedah are going out of they're way to catch drunk drivers this weekend. Whoopee, they're all related. LOL.

  5. I think you'd like these beans, Toad. Dried great northern white beans (not canned)... some diced tomatoes, onions, dijon mustard, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, a generous slug of merlot, water to cover, and about a half of a ham. It's been simmering for hours in the dutch oven and has pulled together and is very tender. If I find some ambition, I'll make some potato salad. I won't have to cook for a couple of days.... hahaha

  7. Ya, I suppose with all the things to do In Necedah, It's hard to figure out where to start. LOL. Do you think they will need a tiny combine to mow the grass In the cemetary? It looks like they kind of started doing something. Did you know a place with good Ice Cream Is down by the BIG dam where they fish? Me either. I have yet to go. My wife goes with the grandkids etc.

  8. I don't know anything around here!!
They have a Farmers market down by the river(?) on Sat. mornings. Keep wanting to try to get there.. And I don't even know where the big dam is. I don't get out much.
Will need a combine to cut mine! Haven't been able to do it, and Dave got the back and side cut, but didn't get the front and corner. Will just have to wait.
