Mornin' y'all! Cold rainy drizzly weather here. But no snow! And I guess that's ok with me for now. Did put up a few xmas lights and decorations. No charlie brown tree this year.. gave ours away. Have to get a new one. The one we had I got from a co-worker when we first got married. And it was old and used but I always made it look good! I was surprised it wasn't bald. So many needles? always fell off. I kinda miss it.. But.. I still do have my Dad's aluminum shiny sparkly tree! Ya.. that thing has to be 50 years old at least! Just have to find a place for it
The aluminum trees are a kitchy phenomenon. They are selling for a lot of money. We had a tree for many, many years that a coworker gave to me. Same thing. OLD and kind of bare. I loved it and missed it when the new tree came into the house. I just do a half tree on a round coffee table. No need for extravagance anymore. Going up this weekend. ;>
I actually just use the top half of the big tree in the stand. In the corner, between the couch and love seat, you really don't notice much difference. Now for the lazy part.... I put a garbage bag over it last year, lights, trimmings and all. It was precarious to get to the basement, but it will be a cinch to "put up" this year. Shhhh. Don't tell anyone. It is just between us. ;>
We put up our tree this past weekend. We do a memory tree. Most of the ornaments are from my life before Dan, but more and more are about our life. I'm such a sentimental sucker...I just love having the memories of the past on the tree.

ReplyDeleteI like the tree on the table idea. I'm not having a tree, unless one grows through the floor. Anything Is possible In this house.
