I have 3 orchids, indoor, I don't know anything about outdoor, and little about indoor, but they seem to like me
It's been an overly hectic week, neighbor has been having serious health issues, I've been trying to help his daughters with him, very draining and hard to watch somebody else's parent suffer, as we just went thru stuff losing my mom in law :( Allergies are on overload to the point I was afraid I had pink eye this morning, even called for an apt, but after drowning my eyes one more time in eye drops, I have my whites back in my eyes, so I cancelled the apt and am just going for lunch with the hubby instead :) Lots of cars next door, will be checking in later. I kinda liked it when life was boring for a little while :(
I got my 1st orchid last year before Mothers Day, got it at the Home Depot in Franklin. This year, I got one from our Racine HD, and another at Franklin's HD. I don't know if I'd be capable of fielding any questions but I'm game to give it a go, I just love them, they are so pretty!
A friend told me she buys hers at Pick n Save. She has had good luck there with getting healthy plants. As an estimate, Liz, what price range and approximate size pots were those you purchased at Home Depot? I recall seeing your pictures online, they were big and beautiful in bloom!
they have a ton of nice onces at our HD, just bought my bright yellow one I've been looking for, they're only 9.98, and lots of good ones, not in the plan area but straight ahead from the door to go in, go get one, girl!!! and enjoy!
As for allergies, everyone at work is walking around with tissues. It must be a bad year.
Why Not, don't be discouraged. Keep trying. A couple of times, I've hit the "sign out" button instead of the "publish." New stuff, old me..... Change is hard.
I went to Pick n Save first. Their selection was terrible, and the $10 ones were pee-wees. I left disappointed. I stopped at HD, and didn't see the table with those you mentioned. I went to the plant area. They had a ton! Most of them were about $30. Then....... I saw a beauty. Marked "special" at $15, and it came with a beautiful ceramic pot. It is giant sized and gorgeous. Pics to follow! Thanks for the tip!
Morning from SC! A little drippy here this morning. Another week, then back to FL for about a month. How time flies!
ReplyDeleteAnyone have any luck or experience growing orchids? I have an itch to give one a try.
ReplyDeleteAnother cloudy day but no rain and the sun is expected later. Can't help you out there KK.

I have a bunch of orchids. They are easy to grow. I swear mine thrive on neglect. I have a garden window in SC and they live outside in FL.
