Trying something new to us... FAVORITES (and stuff to talk about)
1. Thanksgiving side dish?
2. Television programs?
3. Season of the year?
4. Home cooking, take out, or dine-in restaurant?
5. Tree: real or artificial? Is it up, yet?
6. Gift wrap or gift bags?
7. Did you garden this season? If yes, what did you plant?
1. Mashed potatoes
ReplyDelete2. Always the News, CBS Sunday Morning and Jeopardy; but lately I've been dipping into Alaska - The New Frontier, too many cooking shows, and Dancing with the Stars. (TV is so trashy)
3. Has to be fall.
4. Home cooking.
5. Artificial. Not up yet. It seems so wasteful to cut a tree just for the smell. I hear there is a shortage this year and trees are priced at a premium.
6. Love the gift bags. No fuss.
7. Yes. The usual. I did grow a ton of roma tomatoes from seed. I had a surprise cantaloupe and 2 butternut squash that grew from seed from my natural composting efforts. (dumping the vegetable peels, etc. on top of the soil throughout the year and then turning it under in spring) They were tasty and a nice bonus!
1. Danish Red Cabbage
ReplyDelete2. NCIS
3. Fall
4. Prefer Home Cooking, BUT
5. Artificial, Yes (my wife's)
6. I don't do either, (wife does wrapping)
7. No, but I love to garden. I just kind of gave It up?.
Get out, Toad! I make sweet and sour red cabbage. Little guy (12 month old) sampled it and went back for more. Daughters called him a traitor. Must run every other generation. As for the tree... last year I put up the top half. I covered it with a large plastic bag. It is ready to roll, ornaments and all. I'm getting lazy in my advanced years, lol!
ReplyDeleteKK, FUNNY, FUNNY. I just love Red Cabbage. and GOOD for the (little guy) The tree story makes me laugh, because my dad did the same thing when he reached his 50s, and took It to the basement. Viola. Next Christmas INSTANT tree. Quickly, back to strange things and kids. My Granddaughter 14 Just LOVES pickled Beets. I alway's get her a couple jars for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI used to like those, too. Haven't had any in ages. They are sort of on the same line as the cabbage. You might need to hook her up with Aunt Nelly's. ;>
