All who served, and especially those who did not return.

  1. Spent the day with family, yesterday. It sure was nice to see those who recently moved back here. Lots of activity and lots to talk about. Every year I regret that I didn't get flowers on my dad's grave by Memorial Day. He is never forgotten, it usually gets done a week after the official day. He also has an honorary brick at Pritchard in remembrance. I make sure mom gets a "spruce up" planting or something for all the volunteer work she did with the veterans at the V.A. hospitals, too.

  2. My dad did not serve in the armed forces. He had a health condition that prevented him from doing so. B U T, every Memorial Day, I order a planter to be placed on my folks grave site. It stays there until right after Labor Day when it is removed.

Memorial Day is to honor our members of the armed forces who lost their lives defending our freedom, but, I also think it is to remember our loved ones.
