This brings a little more excitement to some of us
than it does to others.   :)

  1. The kids are done today. High school has been doing final testing for 3 days. We still have a half day (records day) to get grades finalized, and pack up the classrooms and our offices. Woo hoo! Summertime and the living is easy!

  2. Our schools have been out about 2 weeks now. So jealous that you get the summer off. I need a vacation but have no idea when. Hubby took off last Wednesday because he had cataract surgery and even though people knew he was off, he received 117 phone calls. Drove me crazy. People are so damn needy.

  3. Thanks! Planning a quiet trip out to the Mississippi River in a few weeks. Love to get on the bluffs and watch the barges go through the locks and dams, spend some leisure time, eating out, no dishes or responsibilities.... looking forward to it! Just so you know, there is no pay when there is no work. Have to be a squirrel throughout the year to enjoy the time off.

  4. My brother lives on a bluff overlooking the MIssissippi River. Last year, he added a beautiful deck to him home. Of course, he and his pups spend a lot of time there. It's a great setting.

Right now, I'm fighting some unsettled weather in FL. While Tampa got nailed, we had some wind and rain, but nothing too out of the ordinary.

  5. School isn't done until June 15th for the girls. Toff's students are done on Friday. I have 2 weeks left before my 4 week vacation, which left me a bit panicked with the thought of getting the replacements ready to take over. It's just my control need taking over.

  6. I saw that the center of the storm was close to where you are, Beejay, and was concerned. Glad to hear it wasn't too severe.

It will be nice for you to have some time off, Why Not. Sometimes preparing is no fun. I've spent the last 2 weeks thinning down and packing up. They are removing some water damaged, 50 year old carpeting in our office. Everything will be moved... A major undertaking.
