Summer vacation teaches me how good I am at procrastinating!

  1. Good morning.
Well.. visited the Urgent care yesterday. Had to call Dave back from MN Monday night. Any doctor within 100 miles (jk) is at least a 3-4 week wait. So last one I called recommended I go to urgent care about 20 minutes away.
Don't know what happened. But my back has been hurting. And then I think it is sciatic nerve. Goes all the way down my leg. Walking to compensate and then the foot starts. Monday night my foot swelled up and I couldn't put any pressure on it. Called Dave crying at 1 Am. He made arrangements and got home. Went to UC at 4pm. she says she thinks it's arthritis. Gives me a shot of some heavy duty Ibuprofen and a rx for 600 ml tabs. Tells me to come back in a couple days if not better.. well. it's not. Red swollen but not as painful. what is it with IB that is supposed to be so great? The rest of me hurts like hell. You should thank me for not posting pictures. Sorry for the 'jolly' morning post. Just wanted to let you all know if I am not on. I am going to UC again today. Or I just may shoot myself in the leg. I that spider bite that I got that started this all years ago injected a nest in my foot and they want out. Yes. That's my nightmare..
Hey.. ain't I fun even when I am in pain with a spider nest in my foot? :D

    1. I hope you went to Tomah Urgent Care? They are said to be one of the top 50 Hospitals In the State, and staff come from Mayo. I don't quite understand what you have, but Ibuprofen, Oral, or In a shot? won't do jack. You need GENUINE Urgent Care by a MD, not a Nurse Practitioner.

  2. Oh my goodness. That's Awful!

Arthritis? Gosh, never heard of that reaction, but I'm not a doctor. The didactic nerve thing sounds right until you get to the swelling.

Keep us posted and get well quickly.

  3. OMG Minnesota. I've had the sciatic issue. I don't think it ever goes away. But never the swollen foot. I hope they can find out what it is quickly and get you healed up.

  4. It sucks to get older. I was totally fine, then my shoulder hurt one day. I thought I just slept funny. The next day, I couldn't move my arm, could barely breathe without pain. Bursitis. Isn't that for 90 year olds? The spider thing is a horrible image. Sure hope whoever you see this time, gets it right. I was very lucky, the cortisone shots my regular doc gave me did the trick in a couple days. Doesn't mean it won't reoccur at some point, it usually does, or so I'm told. It is frightening to be so in pain and out of control without warning! Hugs to you and hopes for a speedy remedy!
