I try. I think my neighbor's sprinkler blew. It started with the regular spraying, and then now all I hear is water pouring out. It rained most of the day and they have the sprinklers on timers. I hope their garden doesn't get flooded. Good thing we have sandy soil here?
I try, too. I'm one of those weirdos who help elderly people out of their cars, offer to load their groceries, etc. I also talk to people in stores and make silly faces at kids. People are less and less social and friendly these days. It is sad.
KK, I am the elderly, but I can say I certainly would not hesitate to help an older person with something. I also talk to nearly anybody In a store. Some, are complete a-holes, others are really nice, and I can't resist kids that are behaving. I alway's stop, and talk to them, and do silly things to make them laugh. KK, Is correct about people though. Lot's of them are creeps.
Toad, we are all old. Numbers don't make you old. Attitude, poor health, unfortunate circumstance has more impact on capabilities than years. Being so sick with that pneumonia for as long as I was changed me quite a bit. I actually had days where I questioned what would win, me - or it, and had to make peace with that. I am far more aware and thankful for what I am able to do each day. I see people struggling and have more of an inclination to ask if they need help. There is a lot of fear out there, though, and probably with good reason. You have to be careful that mothers don't think you are stalking their kids, or elderly worrying you have underhanded motives.
I'm one of those helps when I can. I take carts back for elderly, get carts for them, too. A while back, I got two bottles of Mogen David wine for a woman in an electric cart. Two gallon jugs!
I try.
