Drove 80 miles to attend a birthday party, started and finished a 500 piece puzzle, put up my tree and decorated my house, brewed a bottle of homemade Kahlua, chatted with one of my clubhouse friends this morning, and have some laundry in the machine.  Getting ready to fire up the breadmaker to start a dough for pizza for dinner...
Who said weekends go by too quickly?

I saw this on CBS Sunday morning. I was surprised at the numbers. I thought it was just me. I just saw a couple of commercials that said, "The perfect gift brings people together." "Let her know you love her, with a gift from Kay."  Egad.

Gifts put so much pressure on people to "get it right."  While it is fun to give a surprise gift to someone that you know they will enjoy, it can be worrisome when you are pressured to come up with something, and the light bulb doesn't go off... We've all scoured the stores at some point, and felt that stress to come up with anything before the deadline.

For our family get-together, we have a dollar limit, and then we do a round robin. You give one real gift, and one gag gift to the pile. Wrap them in white paper, take turns, and let the laughs happen. We usually swap it out so that everyone takes home something they can use.

I've already had my nap. The house was full... and so was my belly.  The food turned out well, which is always a worry. That last minute rush to get everything hot and on the table is intense. Lots of baby love, toddler kisses, and kindergarden fun.  Nothing beats that.  I hope your holiday was filled with family and loved ones.

It is Friday O'clock. Just in the nick of time. Whew.

Probably our last Groundhog sighting in SC

We were at the library here in Walhalla the other day when we sighted this little chubby rascal. The one we had on our property disappeared several months ago (and vultures appeared...sniff, sniff). We put up game cams, but so far all we see is deer...many, many deer. One eight point buck. We used to have wild pig, but I guess the poachers got those. Just as well, they can be mean. Here's a picture of our latest deer convention!

We are off to Florida on Thursday for the winter. Getting pretty dank here for me. You may or may not see me on here for a few days. Much to do to get this place ready for our departure. Having two complete homes is not all fun and games, trust me. See you in the Club House once I get settled down there! In case it's later rather than sooner, have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
