The Mask You Live In - Trailer
This is the video that I mentioned in today's open blog. I thought it was very interesting. We do a different, yet equally destructive mask shaping with girls.
Interesting. I'd like to see the girl version. Bullies have been around forever. The long term damage is just now being called in to play. Used to be, what don't kill ya just makes you tougher. Some took it to extremes.
MN Chick, Oh so true. My mask was being a bully. I was huge In particularly Jr. High, and since many people, including family made fun of my size, I resorted to bullying the smaller boy's In school. In reality when confronted, I cowered. I was STRONG only when wearing my mask, as the story goes. Funny thing Is, I will regret It forever.
The one thing I've learned from working with kids.... the tougher they are, the weaker they are inside. The more you are afraid of them, or think they are bad initially.. the more they really need you. It is really sad. Too many kids live too many serious hardships nowadays.
